Happy Consecutive Number Day!

Ryan's 1st day back to school for the year. As we were getting ready, he almost cried when he found out he was going back to ER Dickson. Here is the litany of complaints I got on the way:

"I want to go to a NEW school"
"They don't have enough Math and Science. I LOVE math and science!"
"I want to go to Lexi's old school"
"Can you do something called 'homeschool'? I think we could do that at our house"

Here were my responses:
"We'll get to go to a new school in Illinois next year!"
"Let's ask your teacher if she does math and science"
"You'd have to live at Nana and Papaw's without me if you did that" - he was NOT ok with that clause.
"I have to work and go to school too, so I can't homeschool you right now"

He still didn't want to go, but I talked him into it by saying we'd ask his teacher about the math thing and insisting that I'd keep trying to get him into the math and science school. Yay. When we got to school he thought his teacher was pretty, so he was ok with that. His interest in girls cracks me up!

He had an appointment with the ENT who removed his tonisils after school so I had to go pick him up early. When I got there, I overheard him telling his teacher and a friend that his "daddy is somewhere where he can't get out of" I thought oh, good night, it sounds like he's telling them his dad is in jail. So I asked him to please tell everyone that his dad is in the Air Force, not incarcerated.

The ent appointment went well. He told me that with tubes, Ryan is NOT allowed to go underwater deeper than 12 inches. WHOOPS I told him he pretty much spent the whole summer doing that. Apparently that is why his ears would burn every time we went swimming. Other than that, they will probably fall out in the next 6 months. so he should be good for diving by next summer.

On the way back home for the night, Ryan was so chatty. I love being able to talk to just him. He sounded like he had a lot of fun at school and he made a new friend. yay! He still wants to go to the math and science school though.
